About the Artist

I never dreamed of being a goldsmith or silversmith, but I was born to create. Ever since I remember myself I have had a compulsion to create beautiful items, to discover how things work and make them.

I have always loved flowers and am inspired by geometrical principals, I create objects which have more to them than meets the eye at first glance. I love to hide secrets and small details to be discovered, Each piece is made with love and tells the beginning of a story which I hope will last generations.

Despite the fact that as a child I had no aspirations to work with metal, I feel that my background and upbringing nonetheless formed me, and led me to this profession. My parents were scientists and instilled in me a love of knowledge and experimentation. Both of my grandmothers were talented in creating beautiful and useful items through crochet, embroidery, dressmaking and millinery. Sitting and watching them I learned of the possibillity to create something fantastic from the mundane. My grandfather had beautiful hands and would create spectacular decorations and ornaments from coloured paper and palm fronds. My father is himself a talented artist who creates beautiful paintings in a variety of media and used his precious weekends to craft toys and games from wood for us as children.

I was born and raised in London, into a Jewish family, where I developed an appreciation for art and architecture as well as a love for tradition and ritual. I emigrated to Israel at the age of 19 where on completion of my army service I was accepted to Shenkar College of Design and Engineering and completed my degree in Jewellery Design. In addition to the principles of design, I learnt modern and ancient techniques in forging jewellery and enamelling.

I now live in Central Israel with my husband and our two children
